The World Trade Center As I saw it. September 11, 2001 will be remembered for a long time as the day the United States was attacked by terrorists and began a war. Everyone grieves for those that were lost that day. I went to New York City a month after the attack to help on the recovery effort that was undertaken by a federal team through the Federal Emergency Management Agency. I will never see the events of September 11, 2001 under the same light.
