Nicoya Peninsula

The man part of my vacation was this sea kayak trip for 5 days on the Nicoya peninsula, which is on the Pacific side of the country. I went with Crystal Seas Kayaking. We had a great time eating great food and exploring new ground. Unfortunately some strong winds picked up and we got stranded on a beach for 3 days. But we had a good time anyway. The beaches and shores of this country are beautiful.
Here's some photos............

Our private,
secluded beach.

The wind picked up
and we got marooned in our campsite for 3 nights. But it was
a nice camp spot.

We went for a hike
behind camp. There was a thick overgrown trail heading up
into the hills behind camp. This is a tropical
dry forest. Not as thick and lush as a tropical rainforest
but pretty thick and green
nonetheless.

Ocasionally you
would see a couple of monkeys buddying up like this on each
other's back. I saw one couple moving through the
treetops with another full size monkey on it's back like
this like it was not a big deal.
