Working at the site put us where all the action was. We were right there helping out by distributing supplies to all the workers. Or job was to hand out supplies to all the firemen, police and rescue workers working on the "pile". Popular items were hardhats, safety glasses, respirators, sweatshirts, gloves and digging implements. We did the best we could to keep the workers doing what they were there to do. |

To get to work we rode the subway. Here I am hangin' out on the subway. |

Once off the subway it was a short walk to the site. The blackened building at the end of the street is WTC building 6. |

That is where we lived for 2 weeks while we worked here. The work environment was different and out of this world but we were surrounded by great people who were very friendly and always kept us entertained. When working on forest fires for the Forest Service you always meet special people. This was just another opportunity to meet people from around the country coming together to help the cause. |
