Genealogy Is Addictive ! ! Genealogy Is Expensive ! ! Genealogy Is Documented ! ! Now that we have that out of the way, we can get on with learning how to do it. Having made a rash promise to hold a class for advanced genealogy students, I decided this was a way to organize my thoughts. Getting it down on paper lets me add the things I keep forgetting to say. Some of the topics I plan to cover include:
Beginning Genealogy      Done
Doing Research      Done Finding Records     Done Genealogy on a Budget     Done Genealogy on the Web    Done Getting Help     Done Take a Class    Done The Right Software    Done Scanning Pictures    Done Label All Pictures    Done Preserving Records    Dead-end Link Dating Photos    Dead-end Link Reading Handwriting    Done Translating Documents    Done Where are you going to put all that STUFF?    Done
Good Hunting ! Some Fun Projects The Black Curly Hair project. This originated from a question raised about where the black curly hair came from in the family. It was known, if denied, that there was American Indian in the line. But that does not account for black curly hair.   Project Male Pattern Baldness project. This project concerns John whose hair started receding when he was 14 years old. At 20 he has the same hair line that his father did at the same age. Does he have a chance of maintaining what hair he has. Or had he better get comfortable with the fact that he will be bald by the time he is thirty?   Project
